Plans Underway for The 2011 Global Heart Awards
Presented by the Tree of Life International Foundation

PALM BEACH (December 4, 2010) – The Tree of Life Foundation International is preparing for its annual Global Heart Awards Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.  The organization is currently selecting its nominees for the esteemed award honoring those who share the same vision and represent each branch of the Tree of Life Foundation International.  

The Global Heart Awards, presented by the Tree of Life Foundation International, is hosted by Nancy Stafford, (Emmy Award winner “St. Elsewhere”), and Sean Wolfington, (Award winner at the Toronto International Film Festival for Bella 2006).  The award will be presented to honorees in recognition of acts of generosity and goodwill demonstrated by extraordinary men, women, and organizations on a local, national, and international scale.

Current sponsors and underwriters for the 2011 Global Heart Awards include: Schumacher Infinity of the Palm Beaches, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Valentino.  In addition to the celebration, the Global Heart Awards will be raffling off a 2010 Infinity Convertible good for a two-year lease and up to 10,000 miles per year.

Rochette, who took home the bronze medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics for women’s figure skating became a fan favorite around the globe when she courageously decided to compete in the short program just two days following her mother’s unexpected death.  “Although she won the bronze, to those all over the world, it was pure gold.” Said Palm Beach Ice Works owner, Lori Alf.   In addition to her Olympic bronze medal, Rochette is also a 2009 World silver medalist, 2008 and 2009 Four Continents silver medalist, 2004 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, and a six-time (2005–10) Canadian national champion.  “We are thrilled to have Joannie come to the Palm Beach Ice Works, to celebrate the season with us.” Said Alf.
Palm Beach Ice Works is South Florida’s newest skating facility with an Olympic size rink primarily dedicated as a training center for the serious figure and hockey skater.  Performances on Saturday will range from children in the learn to skate program to those who are proficient with jumps, spins, and spirals and compete on a national level.
