EVERGLADES FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES EVENT HOST
BRYANT GUMBEL AND SPECIAL GUEST SUSIE ESSMAN FOR

10th ANNUAL FOREVERGLADES BENEFIT

Palmetto Bay, Florida (January 14, 2015) – The Everglades Foundation announced today that award winning television journalist Bryant Gumbel will serve as host for the 10th Annual ForEverglades Benefit at The Breakers Palm Beach on Saturday, February 14, 2015.

Adding to Gumbel as the evening’s emcee, special guest and comedian Susie Essman, known to audiences as Susie Greene from Curb Your Enthusiasm will provide supporters with laughs prior to Steven Tyler’s taking the stage to perform alongside backing Nashville based band, Loving Mary.

“We are grateful to all of those who support our ForEverglades Benefit which contributes significantly to our ongoing mission to restore and protect America’s Everglades,” said Eric Eikenberg, Everglades Foundation CEO. “We are thrilled to have Bryant, Steven and Susie lend their exceptional talents in bringing attention to our efforts.”

One of television’s most accomplished broadcasters, Bryant Gumbel is the host of HBO’s acclaimed Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel, a show he has shepherded since its inception in 1995. Prior to that, he was at CBS News as host of Public Eye With Bryant Gumbel as well as The Early Show.  And for 25 years he was at NBC, hosting its TODAY program for 15 of them. A multi Emmy award winner in both news and sports, as well as numerous other accolades for his work, Gumbel has covered foreign wars, elections, international summits, and Presidential inaugurations as well as hosted Super Bowls, World Series, NCAA Championships and the 1988 Olympics from Seoul, South Korea.

Susie Essman is an American comedian, actress, writer, television producer, and voice artist on HBO. Essman has also performed on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show and on film with several comic cameos including Crocodile Dundee II, Baby Boom, and Punchline. She has also provided the voice for characters in Disney animated films Bolt and Super Rhino.

The ForEverglades Benefit raises over $2 million annually to support restoration science to protect and restore this fragile ecosystem that provides fresh water for nearly 8 million Floridians. The Everglades Foundation board of directors supports all of the Foundation’s administrative and fundraising expenses, allowing 100 percent of the funds raised at the benefit to directly support these programs.
