Ann Norton Sculpture Garden Announces Annie V Day and the Book Launch of “THE AWESOME ADVENTURES OF ANNIE V"

West Palm Beach, FLA (April 9, 2013) – The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens has announced the publication of their first children’s book, “The Awesome Adventures of Annie V – Based on the Life of Ann Weaver Norton.”  Pre-sales for the book are currently being offered alongside one of its most integral characters, “Potsy”, a plush pooch that was Ann Weaver Norton’s childhood pet dog.  And to celebrate, the Ann Norton Sculpture Garden will be hosting Annie V Day on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens where kids of all ages will have the opportunity to create secret drawings in Potsy's Dog House with Annie V, visit Ann's studio to see a wood sculpture artist at work, play old fashioned games on the lawn and enjoy a tea party with cakes and lemonade.

In addition, guests will be able to purchase an author signed copy of The Awesome Adventures of Annie V – Based on the Life of Ann Weaver Norton. The book, written on the childhood and true incidence of Ann Norton’s life, was researched and written by Cynthia E. Palmieri and Pamela Larkin Caruso and illustrated by nationally known artist, Henry Cole.

Says Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens Executive Director and co-author Cynthia Palmieri, “The book brings the young Annie Vaughan Weaver (later to be known as the sculpture artist, Ann Norton) to life. The stories are written from her prospective as a young child growing up in Selma, Alabama and features Ann’s inspirations as well as details her adventurous nature that ultimately carried through to her creations that are housed in and around The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, our cultural gem located in downtown West Palm Beach.

No admission is necessary although a suggested donation of $5.00/person is appreciated. Parking at Palm Beach Day Academy at 1901 South Flagler Drive, entrance at back gate in Palm Beach Day Academy parking lot.  Reservations are necessary by calling: 561-832-5328 or via email at: programs@ansg.org.

The historic Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, Inc. is a recognized 501 (c) (3) operating foundation established in 1977 by the prominent sculptor Ann Weaver Norton (1905-1982). The gardens are conveniently located at 1052 S. Flagler Drive at the corner of Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach, FL. The rare palm and sculpture gardens, exhibition galleries and artist studio are currently open Wednesday-Sunday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
